The Filipinos made a huge stop in the next play, and with 13 seconds left had a chance to win it. But coach Louie Alas and his troops couldn’t execute in the waning seconds of the game, allowing the Thais to avert a second setback at the hands of the Patriots who beat them handily in the first round
The absence of import Jason Dixon, who fouled out in the last three minutes, didn’t hinder the Slammers from pulling off a stunning upset over the reigning champs.
