(CNN) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.1 struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea early Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake was centered 88 km (55 miles) east-southeast of Kandrian in New Britain, Papua New Guinea at a depth of 5 km (3.1 miles), USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.
