Pinoys in Milan take boarders to save on rent

MILAN, Italy – Filipinos are taking in boarders to offset the high cost of apartment rentals in Italy.
Leovelyn Diaz is constantly trying to budget her money for her apartment rental and for the little cash that she sends home to her family in the Philippines.
Filipinos in Italy usually spend a big chunk of their salary on rent which amounts to 800 to 900 euro per month (equivalent to P54,000) for a single bedroom unit and 1,000 to 1,300 (P78,000) for a 2-bedroom unit.
Both Diaz and her boarder, Baby Linda Diaz, admitted that they are still adjusting to living under the same roof.
But both ladies said they will try to get used to the situation just to survive and send enough money back home. Marlon Pacion, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau
